When I first discovered that I was studying abroad in Italy, I knew that it would be an unforgettable experience—everyone says that about study abroad programs, right? However, the biggest shock to me was the truly “organic” ltalian experience that we have had here in Le Marche. Urbino itself is not a big tourist town, and is in fact not big in any sense of the word. Spending a month with complete strangers in a Renaissance city in rural Italy may sound formidable to some, but these strangers have grown to become very close friends and trusted peers. I will always remember the memories that we have packed into this short month, and wish we had time for more. I have grown immensely in this short time, and I can attribute it all to the instructors, my fellow giornalisti, and the loving nature of the Italian people. I will never forget this beautiful town, and hope to stopover again soon so that I can revisit the phrase, “when in Urbino.”
