
Annika Trost (she/her) is a rising senior at Iowa State University, majoring in journalism and mass communication and communication studies with a minor in international studies. She writes about student events and travel experiences for the Arts & Culture desk at the Iowa State Daily and worked as a communications intern with Iowa State’s Department of Aerospace Engineering. As a digital media studio assistant at the Student Innovation Center, she helps students use photo, video and podcasting equipment to complete various projects and execute their creative vision. Annika is passionate about culture, travel, intercultural communication and telling stories. Meeting new people and cultivating new experiences keeps her energized and she enjoys thoroughly documenting her adventures on social media. Annika studied abroad at The American College of Greece as a sophomore and is currently participating in a multimedia storytelling program in Arles, France. She volunteers with English Together, Salt Company and the Cultural Ambassador Program on campus as well as helping teach English to international community members. In her spring term of 2025, she served as an emcee for The Fashion Show, Iowa State’s student-led runway show. Her portfolio and more information can be found here.
