Bella White (she or they) is a Pittsburgh-based journalist studying English with minors in journalism and French at Chatham University. At Chatham, she is the editor-in-chief of the student-run news outlet, the Communiqué, where she works collaboratively with a staff of 20 to curate relevant, engaging and timely content for both print and the web. When writing for the outlet, she usually covers news and lifestyle happenings. She has also briefly freelanced for the West Hills Gazette, a local publication serving Pittsburgh’s western suburbs. She particularly loves to tell the stories about the people at the heart of local communities who make the headlines possible, and she is passionate about serving communities without reliable access to news. She hopes to pursue freelance journalism while teaching high school English. Outside of journalism, Bella enjoys reading, attempting to crochet, taking naps and watching women’s basketball. She can usually be found at a library or working in the deli near her home. Her work can be found here and here.
