Victoria Medina (she/her) grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing at Northern Arizona University. She had no prior knowledge of journalism as she started as a photographer for The Lumberjack, NAU’s student-run newspaper. After learning the trade, Victoria ventured into writing, publishing a digital article and photographs about the celebration of Día de los Muertos. She then went on to write a feature story for the print edition of The Lumberjack’s magazine discussing the navigation of one’s identity through differing cultural experiences. Victoria also worked her way up to be the director of photography for her fall 2024 semester and the director of digital content for her spring 2025 semester. With a newfound passion for journalism and a degree in marketing, she is open to exploring career possibilities in related fields. Her work can be found here and here.
