Manuel Orbegozo

I was very honored to be the first student to receive the James Foley scholarship. With such weight and responsibility on my shoulders, I knew I had to work very hard to succeed in the program. Thankfully, the professors and mentors I worked with closely taught me how to approach reporting and photojournalism in more effective and innovate ways. Thanks to their trust in me, I was able to not only contribute to our magazine, but also to a local newspaper. Meeting other students in the program who were very passionate about their stories kept me motivated throughout the program. These four weeks have marked me and I will never forget my time here, nor the people who made this trip memorable.
