Olivia Martzell

Having the opportunity to study abroad in the career path I have chosen was one of the most memorable experiences of my life thus far. This trip has provided me with the skills, requirements, and the responsibility a journalist needs in modern times. Being able to visit Europe for the second time was not only extremely beneficial to my life, but it also showed me what it is like to work in a different country and culture; the experience helped show me how much bigger the world is than the United States of America. I believe it is important for all students to study abroad and expand their horizon, especially journalism students who hope to work overseas. I am so grateful and blessed for the time I have had in Urbino, and I am very lucky to have met some wonderful new people, despite being the only student from Louisiana! This trip was not only refreshing for the soul, but it just proved that journalism is the right profession for me. I know without a doubt that I will return to Europe in the next years of my life, and I’ll have to make a stop in the wonderful town of Urbino.
