I have learned an overwhelming amount about journalism and my future profession on this trip, just as I expected I would. What I didn’t expect was to learn so much about myself. This program has taught me the value of communication, both externally and internally. Conquering the language barrier has forced me to step out of my comfort zone and grow as a person. I’m grateful for everyone I was able to share this experience with, especially the professors who were constantly willing to share their expertise in order to help me grow as a journalist. I’ve focused more on appreciating what’s right in front of me and enjoyed living at the slower pace that Italians are accustomed to. I can’t imagine another city that I would rather study abroad in. Urbino is one of the most beautiful and welcoming places I’ve ever been to. It has changed my perspective on the world and made me feel confident in my choice to pursue journalism as a career.
