Andrew Smith is a recently graduated photojournalist from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. Originally from Las Vegas, he spent two of his college years in Hawaiʻi writing articles as a staff writer for the university paper, Ka Leo o Hawaiʻi, and contributed to professional publications, including Civil Beat. He spent his first year of college in New Zealand at Auckland University of Technology, volunteering at the local radio station 95bFM and writing stories for daily broadcasts before coming to Hawaiʻi for his second year. He gained experience in photography independently by taking professional photos, editing promotional content and shooting videos for artists. Andrew is interested in international affairs and is an experienced traveler with capability in Spanish and Tagalog. After reporting in Japan, he hopes to continue his work back home in Las Vegas as a reporter and photojournalist.
