Anthony Clauson (he/him) is from Alvaton, Kentucky. He is a rising junior at Western Kentucky University, majoring in journalism with a Spanish certificate. He has spent two years at the College Heights Herald, WKU’s student newspaper. At the Herald, Anthony started as a general assignment reporter and then moved up to editorial roles, including news editor and editor-in-chief. Anthony has a passion for journalism, specifically highlighting the human voices behind issues saturated by media coverage. This is Anthony’s first time in Japan. He is excited to dive into the culture and he hopes to pick up some of the language while reporting. After graduating from college, Anthony plans to become an international journalist and write stories around the world. When not writing, Anthony enjoys fishing, reading, and going to the gym. Some of his work can be found here.
